Operator Network

Operator Network

The Right Bus Operator for Your Group

The BusBank® arranges thousands of group transportation charters each year using independent charter bus operators. This is our sole business and specialty and it provides us with unmatched industry expertise and long-term operator relationships. As a result, we have unparalleled access to fleets of all types of vehicles throughout North America providing flexibility to create customized group transportation solutions that fit your specific needs.

Our goal is to exceed your – our customer’s – expectations. We do this by understanding your needs and then matching them with the right operator and equipment, at the right place, time and price.

Choosing the Right Charter Bus Company Can Be Difficult

As a consumer, you likely have access to very limited information about operators in your area, and even more limited detail about the size and characteristics of their fleets, their safety and performance records and their pricing policies. Finding the right one can be like finding a needle in a haystack as there are over 4,000 charter bus operators in North America to choose from, and they are obviously not all equal.

The BusBank Cuts Through the Clutter

We use detailed proprietary information about our bus operators. We also access US Department of Transportation databases on charter bus operators and rely on our industry knowledge and experience. Over the years, we have worked with hundreds of operators on tens of thousands of charters. We have invested millions of dollars and spent untold management time building and improving our knowledge of operators and their capabilities. Our experience and industry knowledge saves you precious time and hassle.

Initial Due Diligence & On-going Evaluation

Before we do business with an operator, the operator must provide us with detailed information about its fleet, operations and insurance coverage. In addition, we routinely seek industry references and perform additional due diligence. Where safety standards are concerned, operators must, at a minimum:

Be an operator “in good standing,” as determined and reported by United States Department of Transportation – Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. This automated, data driven analysis system designed and maintained by the FMCSA is a scoring system based on data collected and reported by state and federal agencies. We review this rating regularly and also contract with the same independent service used by large insurance underwriters to alert us to changes in an operator’s status.

Hold a Valid Operating Authority as per USDOT.

Carry a mandated minimum of $5,000,000 of insurance coverage from a reputable carrier in accordance with USDOT- FMSCA regulations, as evidenced by a current in-force insurance certificate. Some mini buses, school buses and specialty vehicles may have lower minimum coverage requirements.
